Drop-in SWIM LESSONS

We get it — sometimes your schedule is too crazy to commit to weekly swim lessons. That’s why we make drop-in lessons available, so you can book one-time lessons whenever it’s convenient for you.

Booking for drop-in lessons is now available in the Fitness Alive Portal!

We’re excited for this upgrade and hope you are, too. The Portal makes it easier for you to book and manage your own swim lessons. You can even cancel your drop-ins in the portal if needed. (Here’s a video to show you how.)

About Drop-in Swim Lessons

Expand each section below to learn about how drop-in swim lessons work at Fitness Alive.

+ Scheduling and Lesson Types

Drop-in lessons are available when our weekly clients cancel. That means days and times vary from week to week, so check back often.

Drop-ins are for kids (ages 3+) and adult swimmers alike. Booking is available for the following lesson types:

  • Private Lessons: 1 coach, 1 swimmer
  • Semiprivate Lessons: 1 coach, 2 swimmers
  • Group Lessons: 1 Coach, 3 swimmers

All drop-in lessons are 30 minutes long.

Fitness Alive does not pair up partners for semiprivates or groups. You must form your own partnerships with siblings, spouses or friends. Semiprivates and groups are only successful with swimmers of similar age and ability level. So, for example, pairing up a three year old with an eight year old sibling is a bad idea! Lessons will pace at the level and speed of the lowest-level swimmer.

+ Age Requirements

Drop-in swim lessons are available for swimmers ages 3 to adult of all skill abilities.

Swimmers younger than age 3 cannot participate in drop-in lessons. If a swimmer arrives who is younger than 3, we reserve the right to cancel your lesson on site, with no refund of prepaid credits. For appropriate services for little ones, go here.

+ Cancellation, Refund and Sick Policies

There are no refunds on prepaid swim credits for drop-in lessons.

Fitness Alive has a 24-hour cancellation policy. Cancellations must be made through the Fitness Alive Portal.

  • Early cancellation with at least 24 hours notice - Eligible for rebooking.

  • Late cancellation with less than 24 hours notice, and no-shows - Not eligible for rebooking.

If you are in a semiprivate (2:1) or group (3:1) swim lesson, please note this ADDITIONAL CANCELLATION/MAKE-UP POLICY:

  • Early Cancellations for Semiprivates/Groups: If one partner in a semiprivate/group early-cancels a lesson, the entire lesson will be early-canceled for all partners. This means the other partner(s) will not be able to keep the lesson on the date that was canceled by their partner. Semiprivate/group make-ups resulting from early cancellations must be completed with all partners. If you plan to take a lesson with a friend(s), you will need to coordinate a make-up time with that friend(s). Separate private make-ups will not be allowed for semiprivate/group swimmers

  • Late Cancellations for Semiprivates/Groups: If a semiprivate/group partner late cancels or no-shows, this is considered a “charged” lesson, so the partners who did not cancel can keep their normal lesson time and swim on their own. The partner who late-canceled will not get their credit back to use or rebook later.

Fitness Alive Sick Policy:
A last-minute cancellation due to illness — just like any cancellation with less than 24 hours notice — will be treated as a late-cancel and is not eligible for rebooking.

We understand this can be frustrating as a parent; we have kids, too, and know they sometimes just wake up sick! However, as a business, we need to honor our instructors' time and pay them for coming in for your lesson. Thank you for understanding.

Please also note that, to protect the health of our staff and other clients, Fitness Alive reserves the right to refuse services to swimmers who show symptoms of illness, at our discretion. They will be asked to leave the facility and the swim credit will be able to be rebooked.

In the event that a Fitness Alive coach is sick and needs to call out last minute, we will do everything we can to provide a sub. You will be notified about any substitutions. If you decide that you would prefer to not swim with a substitute instructor, you are permitted to late cancel your lesson. Late cancellations are not eligible for rescheduling.

In the event that a sub is not available for your swim time, your credit will be returned to your account so you can rebook on your own for a later date.

All of our policies can be found here.
